  • @Crystal Bruce, the query we use most frequently is the Constituent ID query. This is the query where we copy and paste donor IDs into a “one of” query to get them in a list to look at or to import something on the record. We run this query multiple times a day. It was a joy because we can list 2,000 IDs in the paste now instead of just 500!!!!!!!!! I shouted “Hallelujah” when I heard that in a webinar.

I have used web view queries mostly with gift queries so far and have been pretty pleased so far. I love that I can now paste up to 2000 rows or criteria with one click and that when exporting data it opens right into Excel without having to pull it down from the file transfer utility.

As far as areas of improvement, some of the queries have run significantly slower then running them in dbv. The Consecutive Years Giving, Properties, and Control Reports are essential functions for us that we would like to see added.

  • @Crystal Bruce My most commonly used query is a ‘last week’s gifts' query that I put together. I love the way it looks, and it is fairly intuitive. I am excited that my users actually look as though they may be interested in putting together a query or two!

  • @Crystal Bruce “Gifts Added Today” - helps me check that all our gifts have been coded correctly prior to posting.

  • My most frequent query is “#New Students”. During a student's 1st year, we code their education status as “New Student”. Since Connect overwrites that with “Current Student”, we have to manually fix these - so it's the query I use every time I use Connect.

  • @Crystal Bruce

seems the formatting on some fields does nit mirror DB view. Please check Name, gift type, and campaign.

  • @Crystal Bruce
My most commonly run query in web view are my dynamic queries that I run weekly to keep tabs on weekly giving as well as my outstanding pledge report query which helps me keep tabs on any outstanding pledges.

  • @Crystal Bruce
I don't have a most commonly used query, but when I ran 1 of the more complex query I had in database view, the time taken to export and download the result set seem to be faster.

Another thing is no more having to have multiple clicks (to the up arrow) to arrange the queries in a particular order. In web view, just need to drag and drop.

  • @Crystal Bruce
mainly queries to pull out all sort of mailing lists

  • @Crystal Bruce
I have a ‘new members’ query for public events. The function purpose, it informs me of new additions in the last fortnight so I can check if any friends of the university have joined and we may need to for example move into the VIP group.

    Other comments:

    • Delete would be a nice option in the query so when I have gone in and know for sure I want to delete I can do it within rather than exiting, finding it then deleting
    • Results - I instinctively look at the bottom, I will probably get used to the new position but used to several ways to run this function.
    • You are missing a search function for looking for query fields
  • @Crystal Bruce My most used to query is one to capture new alumni added to NXT.

All looks good so far. I would love to be able to have sub folders in categories.

  • @Crystal Bruce - My most used query is Current Trustee Giving. It appears that the query in NXT looks good!

  • @Crystal Bruce My most common query is “class of”. Very easy to run in web view

  • @Crystal Bruce
Ran several queries, including Gifts not Acknowledged. Results are as expected.

  • @Crystal Bruce I ran some of my database maintenance queries. Processed quickly and refreshing them was very easy!

  • @Crystal Bruce
Ran several queries, The most common is the gift query - for funds foir current fiscal year. The experience is so far good - especially the export and the copy link feature

    Thanks

  • @Rachel Cavalier, I am new to Raisers Edge NXT and have been trying to sort out salutations in our database. Would you be willing to share this query?

  • @Crystal Bruce my most run query is gifts $500 - adjusting the date monthly. I find it very easy to run in Webview query

  • @Crystal Bruce I run the legal members query frequently, adjusting the date to look back 21 months. It took about a minute to process the results, which seems a little slower than DV.

  • @Crystal Bruce Class of and gifts for current fiscal year are most common queries. Was pleasantly surprised to see my queries populated in RENXT. Clicked on those two and results were as expected. The export function is less cumbersome, which is great.

  • @Crystal Bruce I run a monthly reconciliation report to check for data entry errors and consistency and share it with our Finance Department. The web view functionality is much cleaner to navigate than the database view - once I discovered it's a single click and not a double like the database view. Exporting is now a breeze! No more trying to figure out where the export file went!

  • @Crystal Bruce
I use several queries regularly. One of the most used is a query to let me know whose donations have not yet been acknowledged so that we can send them letters of thanks.

  • @Crystal Bruce
I use a constituent query to give me details on recent gifts. The query was easy enough to run and populated pretty quickly. I'm looking forward to creating a new query in web view.

  • @Crystal Bruce I run a number of queries during a work week including a list of new recurring gifts, disbursement reconciliation and online gifts over $500. The web view query worked the same as database and I was able to work through the queries with ease.

  • @Crystal Bruce The most commonly used query by me is a running gift list of donations or pledges over $5,000.

  • @Crystal Bruce I run a number of queries on a regular basis - including recent gifts, newly entered constituents, and various Appeal codes for progress tracking. Simple to use, quick and effective.

  • @Crystal Bruce My most run query is a batch ‘export’ to then use for an external mail-merge for thank you letters. Easy to run!

  • @Crystal Bruce
I ran a query for “last month's giving” which I use to reconcile with our Business department. Ran smoothly.

  • @Crystal Bruce
I am happy to now create queries for my team to use in the Web View. I find it easy to use and export.
