It's so much faster and straightforward to export queries from the context menu. I can quickly export a large list of queries without clicking through each individually.

  • @Crystal Bruce
It was fast to export, but I also don't see the context menu.

  • @Crystal Bruce I truly do love not having RE queries take over my whole session! I've got a couple queries I run that take time and having RE do that in the background while allowing me to still work is nice.

Agree with others than I should be able to set my files to automagically download without my intervention though. :)

  • @Bob Evans Can you tell me how to find the context menu?

  • @Crystal Bruce Could not find an asynchronous export via the Context Menu, most likely because we still have Query (preview). However, I do enjoy the speed of the export in WebView and the ability to continue work as it exports in the background!

  • @Crystal Bruce
I wonder if because mine is Query (Preview) (I'm in Canada) we don't have the Context menu yet, however, when exporting a Query, it would be better to have the asynchronous so that it can export in the background. Currently I don't find it much better than database view as it keeps my screen on “Running Query” when I export it. I look forward to asynchronous exporting!

  • @Crystal Bruce No context menu yet here in Canada, so I am looking forward to it when it arrives. I can imagine it will be great to have the export running in the background. I might miss the opportunity to make a cup of tea, stretch my legs etc. ?

  • @Crystal Bruce I didn't see that option yet but my Query still indicates preview so I didn't find a context menu yet.

  • @Crystal Bruce Exports are so much faster in NXT!! I haven't been able to find the Context Menu in the Query Tab however – we still have it marked as preview!

EDIT: I just started an export that normally takes about a minute and a half to load & export and it was almost instantaneous while I looked at my other queries!!

  • @Crystal Bruce
All my exports are incredible fast in Web View. I was not able to find the asynchrony button in the menu, I feel that for the size of our team (4) and our data base this is not a feature we will need

  • @Crystal Bruce Not seeing this just yet in my View.

  • @Amy Dana Yes! Then having to save it again where other team members can locate it is a hassle! This is great!

  • @Jennifer Holdgreve @Fernanda Marinkovic @Catie Wools The menu is located in those three little dots next to the Query name! If you look at the page that lists all the Queries, each one will have three little dots on the left side of the Query name. Click on the dots and a new magic menu will appear!

  • @Crystal Bruce
This is similar to question 1 because it made it easier. Normally when working in database view, we can't download and work on other things so I loved this

  • @Crystal Bruce
It's not showing in my view. but our queries are fairly small so I don't see that being an issue

  • @Crystal Bruce
I have never had a time issue with exports directly from Query, so my test did not really impress me. In fact, using the asynchronous export, will encourage me to forget that I have done it, thus slowing my productivity. What will take some getting used to is where the exports go. I also dislike not being able to name them as they are exporting.

  • @Crystal Bruce I'm underwhelmed with NXT export so far … really waiting for it to have the same features it currently has in database view.

  • @Crystal Bruce, I guess this could be helpful if I had queries that took a long time to run that I exported. Most of the queries that take a little time to run that I have are ones that I want to visit the donor records from the results so I wouldn't really use this. I can see how this will be great once we get export and can filter down the results. That will make me super happy. Question: If you close webview or get logged out, while an asynchronous export is running will it stop running? If it keeps running after you start it, once we have export that will be a life changer! I can't tell you how often I use the mouse wiggler and run something over night because I can't afford to get logged out before the export completes.

  • @Crystal Bruce
I'm a little confused about asynchronous export via the Context Menu. The only Export button I'm seeing is at bottom of my query screen between the Copy Link and Cancel buttons. Is this a feature that is still being rolled out in waves?

  • @Robin Evans, took me a minute but since I am doing these just ahead of you I thought I would point it out to you. Close the query and click the three dots in front of the query. You can export without opening the query and let it run in the background. Which is kind of nice and I hope they give us for export!

  • @Amy Dana Oh! I didn't even think of checking there! Thank you so much!!!!

  • @Crystal Bruce still in “Preview” in Australia and I can't see this. Is that why? Also, my gift amount column is showing in British Pounds instead of dollars. Can't see where I can amend this. Any help appreciated!

  • @Crystal Bruce
I do believe much like everyone else I still only have access to the Query (Preview) version in web view, but despite this being the case I have really enjoyed exporting my queries from the web view and having them exported directly to my downloads vs. having to export to a specific file, folder, desktop etc.

  • @Crystal Bruce
    asynchronous export not available yet

  • @Crystal Bruce
I think this will be really useful, especially for the several queries I am always exporting it is also in line with a couple of other systems I use and it is nice to have all similar features.

    Suggestion
It took me a couple of searches to actually find what this task was referencing, could a knowledge base be linked to where to find what we need to do. thanks

  • @Crystal Bruce
I cant find what you are referring to, though I only have the Preview view so maybe that is why. It would be great if UK users didnt have to wait to so long to get the same capabilities as US users.

  • @Crystal Bruce - Like others mentioned, I wasn't sure what asynchronous export was. But, I can see where to export.

  • @Crystal Bruce So much easier and quicker being able to download the results directly to my laptop

  • @Crystal Bruce
That's convenient! Though most of my queries are small, so not sure how much I'll use it.

  • @Crystal Bruce It was a pretty simple query I tested with, but the export processed very quickly.
