  • @Crystal Bruce So quick and easy! Love it!

  • @Crystal Bruce it is so much nicer to not have to dig through my drives to find output.

  • @Crystal Bruce So much quicker!

  • @Crystal Bruce I really like this feature it much easier to do

  • @Crystal Bruce This feature is great - so much faster than repeatedly going through the paths to save to a folder every time we need to export query results. I'm able to much more quickly download results of several queries in the time it takes to download results from one query in DB view.

  • @Crystal Bruce : It's working very fast.

  • @Crystal Bruce the simple fact that I don't have to answer the following top 3 questions on an almost daily basis….

1-Where did my export go? ….

2-RE is saying I'm trying to download an invalid file type ….

3-RE is saying I don't have permissions to download anything ….

Has truly been glorious! Now if only I could get everyone to start using it, the sun would never stop shining ?

  • @Crystal Bruce
so easy and much quicker that DB view

  • @Crystal Bruce much quicker then database view

  • @Crystal Bruce I didn't realize how much time I was spending just exporting and saving my queries in database view before trying this!!

  • @Crystal Bruce Man is this helpful! And SO SO much easier than navigating the remote server to get to our own desktops.

  • @Crystal Bruce:

    This is great ?

One of the exciting new capabilities of Query in web view is asynchronous export! The next time you need to export a query, use asynchronous export via the Context Menu on the main Query page. This capability allows exports to download directly into your browser’s downloads folder. When exporting from the main Query page, the export will process in the background and notify you upon completion. Then tell us here how it enhanced your productivity.

  • @Crystal Bruce
This feature saves so much time. I was constantly clicking numerous folders to figure out where I am putting my exports and then clicking again to try and find them but this is just one click and you have the information at your fingertips! Love it!

  • @Crystal Bruce Easy and time saving!!

  • @Crystal Bruce

Piggy backing off of challenge 1, I ran that gift query for online gifts to credit to our GO's and exported it. It went straight to my download folder which was excellent.

  • @Crystal Bruce It's so fast and easy!

  • @Crystal Bruce
I absolutely love that I don't have to click through the Client server navigation. I'm excited for the actual standalone Export function to be enabled, as we have always told people not to export mailing lists directly off queries. But for other internal query processes, this is a huge timesaver. Love it!

  • @Crystal Bruce

This could be a timesaver! Sometimes I have to re-navigate to my preferred folder in Raiser's Edge for exports which is annoying. But then it saves where I'm sending the export and I don't have to do it again. Will there be a way to set this up with webview, so I don't have to move things from the download folder?

Also looking forward to the full export module!

  • @Crystal Bruce
I think that the export from web view query is convenient because it is so fast and goes directly to my download folder. However, I had no problem with database view query export because you can set up where all the export files to go in database view setting and I am used to save all these exports into one specific folder.

  • @Crystal Bruce asynchronous exporting is super convenient and eliminated the annoying steps of making sure the download path was correct.

  • @Crystal Bruce - I echo what a lot of other people have posted - I do a lot of clicking in DBV to get to the file in which I want to save my report/export/query export/etc. Accessing the spreadsheet from my download menu is super convenient.

  • @Crystal Bruce Exporting in web view is amazing and will save me a ton of time. It was so much work to save it to the C: drive, then get it and save it to our shared area. This saves a lot of time.

  • @Crystal Bruce
helpful that it runs in the background and I can look at something and come back to the export

  • @Crystal Bruce I love this! So much more efficient than having to navigate from DB view over to File Explorer to find the export!

  • @Crystal Bruce Wow, navigating to the folder to export felt like such a waste of time. Love the asynchronistic download!

  • @Crystal Bruce This has always been a pain point for me, mostly because my users could never find it after or have the permissions to access it. This is a time saver for sure!

  • @Crystal Bruce being able to go and do other things while the results are exporting and not having to chose a location both save time. Love this new feature!

  • @Crystal Bruce so much easier than trying to remember where you saved your export and you can continue to work while it processes.

  • @Crystal Bruce Really great to be able to keep working while it exports!

  • @Crystal Bruce I like this A LOT. I think it is faster, easier, and more efficient. I love that I do not have to stay on the page and watch something run for it to download; I can actually move on to other tasks! I hope that there will be something similar to it that replaces Database View's ‘Export’ modules.
