Query from excel file?

I recently got a list of names in excel file and need to pull them out from the database. I don't think we have vba module in raiser's edge. Is that possible to build a query out of an excel file. Thank you!

Any chance you have constituent IDs or Import IDs with your names?

If not, I guess my approach would depend upon how big the list is. Small - I'd probably create a query Constituent Name one of using Tab and F7 to quickly look up and pull in the names. If the list is large, you may be better off exporting your constituents with the ID field and then finding the records with duplicates in the list your were given. Save file with ID field and use the 'one of' option.

That's a couple of possibilities anyway.

If you have import id's or constituent id's you can use SmartPaste to create the query in mere seconds.

Thank you guys! I didn't have constituent ids, but I used the 'one of' function with their names. The query runs slowly but it works out.
