PowerUp Challenge: Fourth Web View Query Task
Comments
-
@Crystal Bruce - I created a reunion query, a query of those without an email address, and an event query. Looking good!

@Crystal Bruce I created two queries to pull in-kind and monetary donations for our 2024 Financial Audit. I also created a constituent query of donors who gave through their DAF at the local community foundation.

@Crystal Bruce I have been using web view query almost exclusively this entire week and it's been great. A big feature is the ease in which you can copy and paste a list of constituent IDs when querying on a specific group.

@Crystal Bruce I created queries to file our 990 tax forms. They have been great and I love that the “Save As” function is so clear! Even though it only minimizes a couple of clicks, because it's so clear, it makes it very easy!

@Crystal Bruce I've been using web view queries for a few weeks now and find it easy to use and a little less “clunky" than the original query. Recent queries created:
- Gifts towards our current appeal/campaign
- Newly created constituent records to verify correct information and formatting
- Key constituent codes with any missing data
0 -
@Crystal Bruce I made 3 queries, an event attendees, a committee and invitation list. Queries were great but had problems getting them show in Lists for an email

@Crystal Bruce- New financial donors without a constituent code. Non Active Sustaining donors and donors that gave to a specific appeal last month.

@Crystal Bruce
1. Constituents with a FL address of any address type2. Constituents with a specific fundraiser as the type=former
3. Records last changed today
It performs how I'd expect it to which is reassuring

I made three event screening queries based on Const. IDs. It was easy to set up and use. All the functionality I needed was available for these queries, and it was simple to share these with the team members that needed them.0 -
@Crystal Bruce
I created and shared two giving society queries, and I am building some queries for our next appeal mailing. The giving society queries are mainly for others to use, so I shared a link and set the query so that others can run but not modify it. The appeal mailing queries will be fine-tuned and merged into a Query List in database view, but I want to practice and get more familiar with it in webview. Once exporting is more flexible/flat - closer to Export in DBV, I expect I'll use it more often.0 -
@Crystal Bruce
I created queries for this months gifts, last months gifts and a mailing list. Very easy to create and share.0 -
@Crystal Bruce I am auditing our Action types, etc. So I created queries for each drop-down. Very easy to use.

@Crystal Bruce 3 queries that were created:
- Gifts of a certain amount this calendar year
- Board Members and their last gift
- Donors without emails

I made some mock mailing recipient and emailing recipient queries to test some of the “details” - thankful for the in/exclusion operators; I appreciate that the fields are still available in the same categories (I would be stressed to find them in new locations). I also made a query to test the summary details for constituents - this is a feature I use quite often and I am satisfied with it replicating the DB view version.
My only questions would be around the query export features. I usually build our mail/email lists in queries, but then export the results in the DB view “export” feature. Will this be brought over to Web view?0 -
@Crystal Bruce I created:
- Capital Appeal - Public Gifts
- Event Booking Summary Info
- Fund = Regional - Grotions
The queries were easier to view, quicker to share and a real time saver since I didn't need to wait for Database view to open.

@Crystal Bruce I tested creating a constituent query, gift query, and a participant query (most common queries I create). Overall, the features that have already been adapted to Web view are enough to transition from DB view. The whole principle behind query though, is that you use it to “coralle” a list of records based on a criteria. Then you analyze data based on the information you want to export, thus the need for the Export feature. Can't wait for that to be available in Web View. Finally, a question… the query in Web view is dependent on the fields (field names) that are based in the Database view. These fields are not necessarily found in the Web view (or they have a different label). How will the NXT query continue to work once the DB has been discontinued?
Other things I found are:
- First time you save a new query, you can't specify the category. I had to save it (automatically goes to General) first. I can then edit the category via the context menu.
- In the participant query, you still can't search the event name (search feature is not yet operable).

@Crystal Bruce I created queries to paste directly into a “database clean-up” schedule in excel. This allows my coworkers and myself to quickly navigate to and begin necessary maintenance projects.
-Pending ack letter review: This is a query to be reviewed monthly showing any gifts that contain the letter code “pending” and still need to be reviewed/acknowledged
-HOH marked deceased, spouse not deceased: This is a query that shows records where a constituent is marked deceased but there is a living spouse. This allows us to “flip” the living spouse to HOH so mail and correspondence can still reach the surviving spouse
-Address maintenance: These query(s) display records that are not in our agency standard formats

1 - a query for fundraisers ‘ Wealth screening’ that defines the bunch of people for prospect research based on their location, position, etc.
2- a query checking daily updates on the records to globally add an action ‘Updates today’- I expected to use it with a RedArc plugin ‘One to many’ but it only allows to choose lists so far :0
))))
3 - a query to check Alumni 2024, just a list of Const ID/student numbers. The possibility to copy and paste the up to 2,000 Const IDs using ‘One of’ operator is definitely one of the best options so far!

@Crystal Bruce
1. I created a query of high donors to see who may deserve some extra attention from our Donor Relations department.2. I created a query that sees which donors have been giving monthly which shows their gifts and solicit codes, so we can see who might be a good candidate to be introduced to our monthly giving initiative.
3. I created a query of recent high donors living close by in the area to see who might be interested in attending our program graduation ceremony.

@Crystal Bruce
I pulled a constituent query to see organizations who have given in the last 3 years, an appeal review, and a tribute list.I am just waiting for export to be added to WebView! I also find my results are taking longer to pull in WebView than database.

@Crystal Bruce Corporations that have donated this fiscal year, new donors last week, and all donors who contributed to our last Capital Campaign. It was a pretty easy process creating these queries. The ease of creating them helped me quickly utilize the data and move on to other tasks.

@Crystal Bruce
I have been using Webview query since it's launch, and apart from when I wish to remove a criteria or output, it is an overall smoother experience.0 -
@Crystal Bruce
I have been using the web view queries since they were available. I created an email list, attendance list for an event and a total income from the event. Being able to view the constituent information while in the query is super nice.0 -
I was able to do the same process when creating new queries.

@Crystal Bruce
I created and ran a Weekly Report (keeps track of weekly giving/donors), Outstanding Pledges Report (keeps track of outstanding pledges, and generated a mailing list for a specific event in web view. I do think it will take some getting used to as I have become super comfortable with the database view, but I am excited for the migration over to RE NXT webview.0 -
@Crystal Bruce
I created a query for all active recurring pledges for our dev staff to view, a PLedges due report and a list of fees paid for an event. It's really nice to have the ability to reference other record types with web view now.0 -
@Crystal Bruce
I created a query that pulls all the people that we wanted to send a tax letter to. It is quite complicated with a lot of ‘and’ and ‘or’ but it was so much easier to create in webview. I have also created a giving level report and an email list.0 -
@Crystal Bruce I created different queries for online giving for events
