Proposal Import ID in Query

Options

Hi there, any tips/tricks how to build a query of Proposals and include the Proposal Import ID as a column in the output/extract? Thank you and Happy Holidays!

  • @Candi OHara unfortunately there is not a great way to do this so when I do reporting I make my own id by concatenating a few fields together. Otherwise the only way you can export the actual id is in export and there is not a great way to limit the number output.

  • @Candi OHara I can't check this as we no longer have RE (we moved to a different Blackbaud product this year) but this might be something you could do in Import if the ID field is available there - if it is, it might come out in a better layout than export. There's an import option to “create import file” which is essentially an export process; it was something I definitely under-utilised back when we had RE!

Hi Dan, with you suggestion I was able to get at what I needed via Export. Happy Holidays!

There is a proposal import that you can get individual proposal per line with proposal import id

  • @Alex Wong thanks for confirming, I thought there was something like that but couldn't remember. I guess it has the same issue as Export in that it's difficult to specify the exact proposals you want, but at least they come out one per row, rather than one row per constituent with their proposals across multiple columns.

not sure if I understood your reply, but want to clarify anyway.

Export: 1 constitent per row, and you will have to ask for how many proposal to export, knowing the max per constituent to do.

Import to create an export file (using the proposal import): 1 proposal per row, constituent having mulitple proposal will have multiple rows with individual import id for each proposal on each row
