S-tags for amount raised and fundraising goals

Options
Hi Everyone,

I'm currently challenged by the inability to include how much the participant has raised as well as their fundraising goal, within a TR coaching email.

I've reached out to Support, and they don't seem to deal with such a request as often – as it took a while for the agent to reach out to senior folks to confirm what was and was not possible.

Below is a great example of what I'm trying to accomplish. I believe this example is from another LO client, and I recieved this email in Feb 2018. So, fairly recently.

Any clues on how to do something like this?

Thanks!

    I just did this for our coaching email.  It took me a while but here is what I used.  Hope this helps.

    Days to Event - <convio:session name="48" param="your teamraiser ID:days-to-event"></convio:session>

    Total Emails Sent:<convio:session name="48" param="your teamraiser ID:emails-sent"></convio:session>

    Total Raised:<convio:session name="48" param="your teamraiser ID:dollars"></convio:session>

    Fundraising Goal:<convio:session name="48" param="your teamraiser ID:goal"></convio:session>

    Hi Patti,

    Thanks for your reply! I'm not having luck with:
    Days to Event - <convio:session name="48" param="your teamraiser ID:days-to-event"></convio:session>
    Total Emails Sent:<convio:session name="48" param="your teamraiser ID:emails-sent"></convio:session>
    Total Raised:<convio:session name="48" param="your teamraiser ID:dollars"></convio:session>
    Fundraising Goal:<convio:session name="48" param="your teamraiser ID:goal"></convio:session>

    But, maybe it's my workflow. Am I to do anything special with these session tags? Or just a copy/paste situation?

    In my tests (I "approve" the message and then send to a test group), the result looks like:

    Days to Event -

    Total Emails Sent:

    (all values are blank)

    Thanks!

    Jason

  • Are the users in the test group a part of that TeamRaiser?

    You will need a constituent that is actually in the TeamRaiser to have those fields populate.

    Also, you will need to test using the 3. Send this message to the Reviewer List.

    It won't work using the 2. Test the Message.

    Let us know!

    Hi Phil,

    Thanks for the input!

    Are the users in the test group a part of that TeamRaiser?

    - Yes

    Also, you will need to test using the 3. Send this message to the Reviewer List.

    - Where is this option located?

    Either way, whether I was sending to consitituents who are also participants or not, I was expecting certain session tags to still populate – such as the time until the event? I'm imagining that was a global variable tied to the event and not a specific participant. But, I could be wrong.

    So, still no luck. :)

  • Sorry. I usually test these in the broadcast e-mail area first since there are more options.TR coaching is more limited.

    So my 3. Send this message to the Reviewer List. is in broadcast e-mail.

    We stick this tag at the top of our e-mail and hard code it to the TRID: [[U0:myid=1680]] 1680 is the TRID

    Then the code we drop in the e-mail is:

    [[?[[?xx::x[[S48:1680:part-type-id]]x::T::]][[?x[[S4]]x::x1610x::T::]]::T::

                                                <a href="http://foundation.luriechildrens.org/site/TR?fr_id=1680&amp;pg=informational&sid=1001" target="_blank" title="Step Up 2017"><img alt="Step Up 2017" style="display: block; -ms-interpolation-mode: bicubic; color: #000000; font-weight: bold; font-size: 0.875em;" src="http://foundation.luriechildrens.org/_wrappers/stepup/2017/stationary/logo-stepup.png" border="0" /></a>

                                            ::

                                                [[S51:reus_teamraiser_email_participant_sidebar]]

                                            ]]

    So this is a conditional to look to see if the constituent is a participant. If not, then display the image, if so, display the reus_teamraiser_email_participant_sidebar, which is what you are trying to do.

    Here is how we are doing days to event:

    <div style="font-weight: bold; font-size: 16px;">[[E130:[[E48:[[S80:myid]]:days-to-event]] 0 < "0" "[[E48:[[S80:myid]]:days-to-event]]" ?]]</div>

    <div style="font-size: 10px;">Days&nbsp;Left</div>

    Let me know if that helps.

    Phil
  • Patti, thank you very much! Works great! You were able to help me in one thread, whereas I couldn't get a straight answere on this feature from multiple agents in Support.

    Thanks again!

    Please also keep in mind that these can be written in the WYSIWYG (stands for What You See Is What You Get) editor directly with the double brackets instead of the XML if you prefer to work in the WYSIWYG editor.  Here is how they would look to drop them in the WYSIWYG:

    Days to Event - [[S48:0:days-to-event]]
    Total Emails Sent:[[S48:0:emails-sent]]
    Total Raised:[[S48:0:dollars]]
    Fundraising Goal:[[S48:0:goal]]

    Also, there are some S43 tags that help if someone is on a team or not to show the team goal and amount raised for the team.  This would be code to add in the Plain Text Editor as a conditional that first looks to see if a person is on a team and then if they are to display the team goal and the team's amount raised:

    [[?xx::x[[S48:0:team-id]]x:: :: <strong>Team Fundraising</strong><br/>Goal: [[S43:0:goal-dollars]]<br/>Raised: [[S43:0:dollars]]]]

    Additionally, if you write a zero "0" in your code where the TeamRaiser ID would be, it acts a wildcard to pull in the TeamRaiser's ID number for any event as long as you are using the TeamRaiser's autoresponders or coaching emails because you are sending the email from the TeamRaiser module/application itself.

    I hope this helps in getting your code to work in the WYSIWYG or in the Plain Text Editor.
