Ghost Checks

We have what we call “ghost checks” show up from time to time when someone has signed up for a membership and a check gets entered in with no # or amount along with a CC payment for the same amount.

So for example, it would look something like this:

12/8/2024 ……….. Credit Card ………… $150 ………. MasterCard

12/8/2024 ………… Check ……….. $150 …………. No details

I'm a bit confused as to whether these are simply accidental inputs where Credit Card was meant to be selected, or if these show up on their own by error. I've spoken with several people whose accounts these kinds of “ghost checks” show up on and and they all mention not ever selecting on Check as a payment.

Has anyone else ever encountered this issue?

@Stephanie Bellah I know we connected about this issue - but I wanted to follow up on this in case anyone else is having this issue. This is something that Support will need to take a look at: Extra membership transaction created when entering memberships
