May 27th & June 5th: Webinar - Page Designer and Custom Data Lists

Options

Thank you to everyone who attended our webinar yesterday: "Power Configuration Tools in Blackbaud CRM," presented by Jim Ballou.

Here is the link to the recording on YouTube.

The Power Point presentation is attached to this post.

We only had two questions come up during the session that I wanted to follow up on, and here they are:

  1. Is the ability to save XML for a newly created page a feature that’s available in 3.0 only?

No – this functionality is available as far back as version 2.9, in the Smart Client.  However, access to Design Mode in the Web Shell only started with version 3.0, so if you want to use this functionality in earlier versions, you’ll want to use the Smart Client (turn on Design Mode there by going to Tools > Design Mode).

 2.  Do organizations use this functionality to build pages on the fly, or write functional specs first and handle this like any other customization?

Either is possible, but most probably plan and configure everything in a non-production environment to test, and then move everything in to production once it’s all set.

  • Join us for a FREE training webinar about Page Designer and Custom Data Lists in Blackbaud CRM!

Have you ever wanted to customize the way your records are arranged in Blackbaud CRM?  Or wished that a data list could include a couple of additional fields?

There are ways to “customize” your CRM database even if you aren’t a backend developer.  Join Jim Ballou, Principal Solutions Engineer for Blackbaud CRM, to dig in to this functionality and make CRM display the information that you really need, where you need it!

By the end of this session, users will be able to:

    • Build a custom data list
    • Add the new data list to a page in CRM
    • Build a new page using Page Designer/Design Mode

The demonstration will be shown in a version 3.0 Web Shell environment, but the functionality is applicable to all versions.  While the “look” of the pages in Web Shell are different from those in the Click Once application that many of you are using, the tasks that we’ll be looking at remain the same, and will be applicable to your database, regardless of format and/or version.

    Dates:

Tuesday, May 27th at 11am EST – Register

Thursday, June 5th at 3pm ET - Register

The sessions will last about 45 minutes.  Once you've registered, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions for joining the meeting.

    Hi Heather!

I'm sorry I didn't update this post - my follow up post with the Power Point deck and recording from the first session is here (you can also access it under Events > Archived Events > Webinar: Power Configuration Tools for Blackbaud CRM).  I'll post the recording of the second session there as soon as it's available, which I'm hoping should be today or tomorrow.
