Disabling Common Ground Triggers

Options

On occasion partners run into situations where Common Ground triggers prevent them from editing or deleting records as needed. For example, if an organization with an existing Salesforce instance has all contacts in one account and you try to edit or delete one of the contacts, Common Ground's triggers will likely hit Salesforce's query limits when calculating giving summaries for the account. With the release of 2011b partners now have the ability to temporarily disable the contact, account, and opportunity triggers.

IMPORTANT:  Triggers MUST be re-enabled as soon as possible as leaving triggers disabled will result in unexpected behavior. In addition, these steps cannot be shared with a client as this setting can cause a lot of damage if not used carefully.

Complete the following steps to disable triggers for your user account. You must be a Common Ground Administrator to perform this task.

  1. From the Setup menu, go to the App Setup section and click Develop to expand it. Click Custom Settings.
  2. From the Custom Settings page, click the Manage link in the Common Ground Settings row.
  3. Click the New button to display the Common Ground Settings Edit page.
  4. Select User from the Location drop-down menu.
  5. Click the Location Lookup icon next to the Location drop-down menu to find and select the name of your user.
  6. Place a checkmark in the Enable Data Migration Mode checkbox.
