Event Participant's age limit

Options
To qualify for our Young Leader pricing at Dinner event, the participant must be 35 years or under. How would I integerate it to event form, so if the participant is over 35 as I have added a required attribute of birth date to the event page, it will give an error message.

Thanks,

  • You can add Participant Attributes to the event registration form and you can also choose to make them required.

For example, a Participant Attribute for "Date of Birth" can be created and then placed on the event registration form. It can be made a required field, but there is no if/then logic or warning message.

First, make sure you have your participant attributes setup in The Raiser's Edge > Configuration > Attributes > Participants

Make sure that when you are using participant attributes that you check the "Allow Only 1 Per Record" box.

Second, when you go back into Online Express, the participant attributes will show up as an option on Step 2.

  • I did that Steve, I made it a required field, hopefully it will not allow donors to register if their age is more than 35, right?

No, you cannot limit registrations based on the response to the age field. We would recommend noting this requirement on the page, the confirmation screen, and the confirmation email. You could also name the Participant Attribute something like: "DOB - Must Be or something similar.
