Opt out in Online Express and adding information onto Constituent Record

Is it possible to build a query with all the Opt outs/ Unusable Emails from Online Express. I know they are marked as "Requests No Email" on their constituent record however I would like to add a global action or update solicit code. My reason for wanting to do this is to ensure staff who don't use Online Express don't untick "Requests No Email".

    Hi Nikki - two things that may be helpful on this topic.



    1) BBOX does check the "Requests No Email" box in RE - *however* BBOX keeps a master list of unsubscribes that can not be overwritten in RE. So if, for example, one of your constituents were to unsubscribe, then a month later the "Requests no email" box was unchecked in RE - they would still NOT receive emails from BBOX. The only way customers can receive email again from BBOX is if that person were to subscribe again using the BBOX email signup form.



    2) Coming very soon to the new email stats page will be a button to "Send this data to RE" - this will allow you to send all the email action data to RE as an appeal, including unsubscribes. At that point you could query on this data to find unsubscribes.
  • We're not using the BBOX email signup form as we want to put all our subscription options - email and direct mail - onto a single web page. So I guess our workaround is to create a page for our internal use which we use to sign up people who are on the BBOX unsubscribe list.

    Hi Paul. The signup form now uses double opt-in to subscribe users. If you create an internal signup form and add users back in the event they tell you they want to be back on the list, the user will receive a confirmation email that requires them to click a link to confirm their signup.



    Both of these features are to keep up with email compliance laws - adding folks back to a list that they have unsubscribed from must be handled with extra care.
