Could an option be added to truncate stories and use a "click to read more" button within e-mails? My e-newsletters are getting too long!

Options
Would like a "click to read more" option so that I can compose an e-newsletter with lead paragraphs on each story and keep the overall layout looking sharper instead of so wordy.

Hi Sarah. Some of the best marketing emails I see take advantage of a strategy like this; nothing scares recipients away more than a wall of text. You can easily do this today with some smart usage of the text and image widgets. I recommend creating a very short, interesting attention getter with text, then follow it up with a clear call to action link (perhaps an image) directing to the rest of the story on your website.

Remember it's never a perfect science, so experiment with different intro text and calls to action, and keep a close eye on click rates!
  • Thanks for the suggestion Matt. Unfortunately linking to full articles on our website is not an option for the e-newsletters as the articles in the e-mails are not content on our website and are not appropriate fits for addition there. Not to mention the website is run through a whole different department with submissions from all of us and a process from there.

Is there any way to link to expanded stories without having to house them on our website or could there be a way added by RE?
