Soft credit name and fund split amount in query output

Options

I ran a query of all individual donors to our organization using Summary Information, Total Amount of Gifts and filtering on my desired gift codes and types. The problem is I would like my output to include the name of the soft credit recipient and the fund split amount. Many people who work for our organization are donors and spouses and are soft-credited for each other's gifts. Unfortunately, I haven't been at our organization long enough to recognize all the names and connections via eyeballing, and in any case, it's very inefficient for me to spend all that time manually cleaning up the list.

Unless I'm missing something, it appears I can't display these two fields when I use Total Amount of Gifts. Would a gift query be a better option?

Thanks!

The soft credits can be a little trickier -- what kind of query are you working on: constituent, gift?

It is always better to use export instead of query to actually review info - query is just a grouping tool.

You can select to have a query credit gifts to both the hard and soft credit constituents (this would include both in the query).

There should also be a field under gifts called soft credit recipient name.  If you need help finding it, you can use the fund button on the bottom left to search for fields.

Thank you Nicole. The problem is that a gift query doesn't give me the option of querying on the total gift amount, and including split fund amount when querying on total gift amount doesn't appear to be possible.

NIcole said pretty much what I was going to suggest.  Use Export to output the soft credit names.  This is a standard export of me.

I was looking for some options under export for the split fund and not finding it.  (Personally, I do not use split gift option due to reporting issues, how it handles payments, reporting glitches etc.)  I haven't checked KB for solution on how to export split gift amounts.

The soft-credit field is listed under Gifts>Soft Credit.  The issue there for query is that it's a one-to-many fields and will potentially cause duplicate listings in the query. [:O]

If I recall correctly, the fund split amount is a field available in query, but possibly not export.
