Finding Family donors in a query

Options
Hi, I need to pull a list of donors with a specific attribute and then pull all their relationships who have made a donation. Is this possible? i can easily get the list of all people with attribute x, but is there an easy way to get any gifts made by their spouse, child, etc, anyone flagged on their account as a relationship?

So the gifts from the spouse or family member are not soft-credited on the record with the attribute?

No, while we would soft credit spouses, in some of these cases it is a more distant relationship so there wouldn't be a soft credit.

I'm not sure how you'd go about that - I'd ask support.

There may be a way to do it in query - but I can't wrap my mind around it right now.  You could possibly do a query of records with attribute and output all the relationships with their import ID, export it to excel, then bring it back into RE using a query with criteria Import ID one of and paste in import ID for all the relationships.  I'm thinking to see gifts of those with relationship you'd have to select their record, not just have them pull as relationship.

    I'd call/chat with support :)

Thanks... sometimes it's reassuring that there isn't a super easy answer that I just hadn't thought of! :)

Aldera - Would this work? Create a query of constituents who gave a gift in the time frame that you want to cover. As part of the selection criteria include - Relationship\\IndividualRelationship\\Attribute - and then pick your attribute by date or description. This would then restrict the output to be only those constituents who have made a gift - but are also a relationship to the person who has the specific attribute. Let us know if this works for you.
