Non-constituents and "Primary Business Contact"

Options
I want to ensure that certain individuals in our database get pulled into queries where we need their information. Previous employees at our organization would often add individuals to the "Relationships" tab but not add these individuals as a constituent. Usually these non-constituents were marked as an "employee," "contact," or "primary business information" or a combination of the three. My supervisor would like to keep this system in place. She doesn't want to create an individual record for an an individual whose only connection to a record is the organization. My question is this: if these "non-constituents" are marked appropriately in the relationships tab (employee, contact, primary business information), will they get pulled into a query? A few of our query "favorites" are "Primary Business Organization," "Primary Business Position," and "Relation Contact Name" so we can pull in employees or trustees into a query with their business address listed. Can non-constituents who are linked to an organization get pulled into a query with those parameters if they are marked as either an employee, contact, or "primary business information" in the relationships tab? Thank you in advance for your help and advice!

    Maureen,

Try a query and see if pull what you want.  For criteria you can select Relationships>Individual>Contact Type>Primary.  You can output the contacts info.  But the record that is is pulling is the org record.

Is that what you want or do you just want the contacts?  We don't create records for our contacts unless they have some other connection to our org and we are needing a record to record gifts/board mbrship etc.

You should be fine if data is entered correctly.  Just test it with a record you're familiar with.
