RE + Office 2013 = ...?

How goes the RE/Office 2013 compatibility...? Anyone have any feedback so far...? I've been holding off upgrading everything until we feel like the two really can play nicely together.

Hi Beth, I had read somewhere that Office 2013 was compatible with the latest versions of FE & RE on blackbaud's site, though I look for it now I can't find it. After creating a new system image with Office 2013 Pro and rolling it out to all staff, exports from RE to Word do NOT work it gives a database error of some type. This is NOT on patch 2. I did find one forum post that Jenn Mercer of product development said it was compatible :: http://rediscovery.uservoice.com/forums/137015-raiser-s-edge-discovery-topics/suggestions/3854337-office-2013. If my sql server wasn't so old and neglected from previous IT staff I would attempt the upgrade, but I actually ran out of space doing the upgrade to 7.92 so I'm very timid ... Personally, I would hold out ...

Per the system requirement info: https://www.blackbaud.com/files/support/guides/re7/re7sqlreqs.pdf  it does not list Office 2013 as integrating for email or mail merge (see page 6.)

I wanted to confirm that the Raiser's Edge 7.93.5782, patch 2 and higher is compatible with Microsoft Office 2013, 32-bit.  This includes the functionality to integrate for mail merges and send emails.  Microsoft Office 2013 64-bit is not compatible with The Raiser's Edge at this time.  You can read more about the compatibility by referencing the knowledgebase solution below:

We just updated some of our computers to Office 2013. We have RE 7.93.5782.5. Today I'm trying out Office 2013/RE to see what doesn't and doesn't work. So far most things have worked. Here are the one that hasn't (so far)

- Exporting in Excel 2007 or earlier. I can export to Excel 2007 from a Query, but not from an Export. Also, RE doesn't give me the option of exporting to Excel 2010 or 2013. (possible work around is to always Export in CSV format, since that still works, but that's a bit annoying)
