Changing gift type from Cash to Gift in Kind

Options

Accidentally entered a batch of gifts-in-kind as cash (filled in the defaults and put the wrong gift type, then hid the default columns from view so I didn't notice it while putting in the other data).  Is there a way to globally change every gift in the batch via query or something?  Thanks!

    Unfortunately, no.

See Knowledgebase solution BB18254, copied and pasted below as to what options you do have.

    Description

When adding a gift, you may accidentally select the wrong gift type and need to change it. For example, a gift may be inadvertently applied to a pledge, requiring the type to be changed from Pay-Cash to Cash.

    Environment

    Answer

Delete the gift and re-add it with the correct gift type.

    OR

Globally delete the gifts committed through batch and recommit them with the correct gift type.

    OR

Update the gift type through query, export, and import.

    OR

    1. Adjust the gift amount of the payment to $0.00.
    2. Add a reason or a note for why it was adjusted to $0.00.
    3. Enter a new gift (or payment) with the correct gift type. That will allow for the ability to track the old, incorrectly entered gift, and track the new gift as well.

actually.... if you batched it, you could make the batch recurring, change the gift-type to in-kind and recommit.  Then just delete the bad gifts.
