Importing Annotates

Options

Is it even possible to import annotates?  I have about 8000 constituents that I need to add annotates to.  If so, where can I find this under the import? Or is it a global change?

Thanks!!

Do you mean just a note on constituent notepad?

If so, see Solution ID:  BB14618  - How to import constituent notes If you mean a note on gift record, see BB50112, gift notepads You could also possibly do it as a global add if you have query of records.

I have never seen annotation as an option in import. Maybe you could do a user-defined business rule to make the popup show up?

Per knowledgebase BB12838 it's not possible to globally add or delete annotations or to update them through import.  The way it's worded almost opens the door to import them but there's nothing that I see in KB about doing it. Maybe ask chat/support specifically.  Don't see field in import unless it's hidden well. :)

Maybe more info on what type of thing you want to annotate would be helpful for options other than doing it on each record.

As to adding a user-defined business rule for a pop-up, you have to be able to have a query of all the desired records.  Usually that means the info has to be on each RE record and entered in a manner allowing it to be queried on to create the pop-up.  If you can create the query by filtering on other info, you could create the pop-up without having to add a note/attribute/action. (Ex: donor is over 80 years old because you could use info in the DOB field to create your query.)  Can you query these 8000 records?

There is not a way to import annotations at this time. I recommend filing it as a suggestion on our Raiser's Edge Idea Bank: http://ow.ly/rQZg8 Don't forget to vote!

Thanks JoAnn!  I didn't even think about the Business rule option for a pop-up.  That is perfect.

    Thanks Again!!
