    Trish,

    A great letter, to me, is one that features the mission of your org.  For that reason, shared ones are not always beneficial.  Our letter would not easily covert to your org mission.  

    The goal in our letters is to snag the readers attention by sharing a true story of a life changed by donation such as we're seeking.  We offer various giving amounts, invitation to see/visit facility/programs etc.  (My personal tip is to read your draft of the letter aloud several times.  We almost always able to tweek a few things we find this way to make it a better letter.)

    Trish, I find viewing all sorts of examples helps me out as finding my opening line is always the hardest part for me.
