TeamRaiser: Persistent Teams Within Events

Options

Comments

  • Hi Casey,

I am so excited that this is now an option! Will this new feature apply only to newly created TeamRaisers, or can it be turned on for currently live blueprints and children?

    Thanks!

    Shana

  • Shana,

you can turn this on in existing blueprints / child blueprints - but there is a hitch. it really only "works" for teams that have NOT already registered for the event because if they are alreday registered when you push the change, the team was technically already reactivated without using this feature. does that make sense?

    thanks,

  • I'm adding a request on IDEAS.

The new functionality is great, but seems really unfinished.

The registration wizard now prompts you to log-in. Great. But once you do, nothing changes. Everyone here expected to be offered to join/reform last year's team right then and there. Instead there is no indication that recovering your last team is even possible - we all assumed the functionality was broken.

When you eventually think to search for a team, you finally get some indication how you can 'reform' your team. Unfortunately you are offered to reform EVERY team. Of course you can't - and receive a permissions error if you try. (Offering links to locked content is not great UI design.)

Once the visitor logs in, they should be offered a list of previous teams they were on without searching. (This should be a simple lookup, right?) If for some technical reason they must search, how about a bit of text after the login prompting them to do so? You start with... "Note: To reactive your team from last year, you must be signed in." But once they DO sign in, they should get more direction. And the search results should not offer to reform teams they don't have rights to.

  • Brian,

Thats concerning because users should not have be presented the option to reform a team that they dont have permissions to do so.

Can you please open a support case on this so we can have someone look at it for you.

    Thanks,

    Casey

  • You bet. (I have a screensnap of search results showing 65 old teams offering me to 'Form Team Again', but we can't post images on this location.)

    Regards, B
