Submit Button Custom Text for Event Form

Options
Hi there!

I have a free "event" form I've been working on that we're using to gather information for people who want to get involved on a deeper level with our newest affordable housing development. Since it is not an actual event, I want the submit button to say "Submit" rather than "Register." However, when I go to fine tuning for the form, the button shows up as "Secure Payment" and is uneditable, even though the form has been already been posted and the button on our website says "Register" (because it is a free event with no payment information needed). Has anyone come to this trouble and found a way around it?

TL;DR

This is what the form editor looks like in the fine tuning tab:

This is what the form looks like published on the website:

I want to edit the text of the button to say "Submit."

Thank you,

El

Hi El Horsfall‍ - Turn off 'Blackbaud Checkout' on your event form.  This will enable you to be able to edit the submit button text.
  • That worked, thank you!
  • Just to add to this because I'm still trying to research how to customize this.

We don't have a free event, so we can't turn off Blackbaud checkout, but would like to customize it so it says “Purchase Now!” or something.

Any idea on how to customize this with Blackbaud checkout? I see that the button has an <input type='submit' value='Secure Payment'> If I changed this type vale='Purchase Now!' think that would screw anything up? Anyone know?

This was so much easier with the OLX Standard Checkout but Blackbaud Checkout doesn't seem to have many options in OLX.

  • Any updates to this?

I received a notice that we have to switch to the new Blackbaud Checkout by Feb. 19, but there's no option to edit what the button says. “Secure Payment” is confusing for a free event. And it doesn't appear that the system will allow me to turn off donations - I receive an Error message to select at least one payment method if I try to move forward with all three payment methods unchecked.

The standard checkout allows us to say “Register” on the button, and even allows for the text to be edited, just as the other payment methods allow for editing. But the Blackbaud Checkout (New) says “Secure Payment." Again, this text creates a confusing user experience for attendees who want to RSVP for this free event.

@Kayla `Gabriel - Unfortunately the days of being able to edit the button display for OLX are behind us. I recommend you check out NXT Event Forms, that is a much better user experience for free events.
