Transript Category credit count summary on Official Transcript

Options

Is there a way to include a summary of the total number of credits achieved in each transcript category on a transcript? For example, English 4, Math 4, etc.

  • @Kristin Heard This is possible on the Old Transcript Builder, but I don't think it's possible on the New Transcript Builder.

  • @Kristin Heard It is also possible on the New Transcript Builder. We had to work with support to get this completed.

  • @Denyse Schumacher was this a function they needed to turn on from their end, or is it something we can do on our end?

  • @Veronica Zermani The function is already part of the transcript builder. Under tab “2. Design form,” we used GPAs from the Details section. First a “calculation” needed to be built for each department, then the departments could be selected under “GPAs to include.” There were a few glitches along the way; we had to do a lot of random testing, especially for students who had transfer grades.

  • @Denyse Schumacher thank you for sharing these steps. We do not calculate GPA, so I'm hoping for them to figure out a way to do this that is not connected to GPA calculation.

  • @Denyse Schumacher Thank you for this. I do have a case open with Support, but not getting anywhere yet. I'll have to mention your response and see if that rings any bells. They added a total credit count by year to the bottom, which is not what I asked for. I'm going back and forth with them. I will see what I can do with your suggestions. Would you be able to share one of your calculations? Is it okay if I email you?

  • @Kristin Heard Yes, you can email me. Below is a screenshot of our calculation. Each department is setup with its own calculation; calculations are tied to credit earned, not to GPAs.

Here is the formula that is used (it's cut off in the above screenshot)

Listing the “excluded courses” takes a long time as you cannot select multiple courses. We have 11 departments, so we needed to exclude all courses from 10 departments for one department's calculation.

  • @Denyse Schumacher Thank you. I started looking into it yesterday afternoon and I figured we would have to do an exclusion list for each calculation. I feel an idea bank topic coming on…allow by bulk or by department. Greatly appreciate your help. At least it gives me a direction to go in.
