Using OLX for an import of data not from RE

Options

I would like to import my own excel as our database isn't perfect yet (I've already downloaded from RE, cut and cleaned the list) back up to OLX to send a timed email. I do not want this data to be in the RE system. Basically, I want to use OLX email design like constant contact for this one email so it can be timed. But.. OLX keeps trying to go to a list or query out of RE with no button to choose to import your own data. Please advise any help on how to do what I want to do. I know currently with this new database my data is better than what's in RE until we have time to finish cleaning it. Plus I already cleaned it.

@Bridgette Miller - Unfortunately it is not possible to email to an external list from OLX, those emails need to be on a constituent record in RE. There is a workaround, but it's not great. You can put all the external emails on the external list onto one constituent record in RE - depending on how many emails this will either be a small headache or a migraine to keep track of as emails bounce or unsubscribe. It's not an ideal solution and does not support personalization, but it works.

The best solution would be to create a constituent record for each email on the external list, tag the records with an attribute to make it easy to query on/segment and go from there.

  • @Bridgette Miller In an ideal world, do you want this data cleaned up in RE?I ask because if these email addresses are already in RE on constituent records, then I would use your cleaned up list as a way to import an appeal, attribute or some other marker to indicate who is on your cleaned up list. Then, you can use a Query of those records with that marker.

Potentially, you could also create a Query of those records based off of the email addresses using the One of and a cut/paste of 500 records.
