How to create a unsubscribed/opt out list in LO

I am in the learning phase of LO and would appreciate if someone could let me know how to go about creating a brand new unsubscribed/opt out list so that I can form a group. I want a query with only monthly donors for email series but want to exclude major donors, one time donors and anyone who have opted out. Hope this is making sense. Thanks very much!

    This is a couple things to setup in Luminate. Do you have a group set up that have your monthly/recurring donors? Do you have a group that holds your major donors? Major donors is different per org, so there will be a little setup there.

    So you can use query first to set up a group of monthly donors, then use query again to setup a group of major donors depending on your criteria. Monthly donors you should be able to get by choosing field type: sustained giving information and field, status, then click Add Field Clause. After that, choose Current Sustaining Donor and click Save. Once you Run the query, it will give you the option to save as a group. You can now use this group as a suppression in your emails.

    The major donor group, I would need more info to point you in the right direction to set that up.

    You should be able to create a group for one time donors. In query, choose Transaction Information, field: External YTD Gift Count. I don't know if you have Raiser's Edge as a backend, but that data can flow back to this field to get a count to create the one time donors group. If you are only using Luminate, I have to search a bit more to find how to get that.
