Alternatives to Omatic Cloud

Options

Hello! My organization currently uses Omatic Cloud to push data from RE to LO in an effort to keep our LO data as clean as possible. We've been using it for a year but aren't loving it and are starting to look for a new option. My BB rep suggested JMG Solutions or DNL Omnimedia and I am exploring both of those. I was also curious if anyone else had a connector that wasn't Omatic that they liked. Primarily we're trying to maintain the 1:1 relationship between the data in RE and LO, especially address, name, and email.

    Hi Krista, would you be willing to share what you don't like about Omatic Cloud (OC)? We're considering “upgrading” to it from what we have, which is two Omatic tools – a connector for our CRM, Engaging Networks, and ImportOmatic, which we use for other imports. The cost for the upgrade is not small and I know that with the OC, we'll still have some manual processes to manage ongoingly. Granted that you're willing to share about your OC experience, we could connect outside of this community forum. I should also note that prior to using Omatic's Engaging Networks Connector, we used JMG and had a very bad experience. I do not recommend using them and would bet money that the non-Cloud version of the LO Connector is better than what JMG can do. If you're into connecting over email or a call, I'd be happy to share more details on our experience with JMG.

    @Krista Berg
    A lot depends on how your data is recorded in both.

    LO is generally 1 single constituent = 1 email address. Yes you can have an “alternate email” but it is mostly useless

    RE is a lot more flexible for your need. You can have 1 constituent record per “couple" (where spouse is non-constituent spouse) or 1 constituent record per individual. You are also allowed to have same email on multiple constituent record. This flexible will hinder your ability to do a “perfect sync” with LO.

    Before (or during) your investigation on using new ETL tool, it is best you take the inherit difference in record recording between RE and LO in mind, otherwise you will be faced with same problem.

    I would definitely be happy to chat outside of the forums and share what we've experienced with OC, as well as hear about your experience with JMG. Feel free to email me at krista@seattlehumane.org and we can set something up!

  • @Krista Berg. I'll email you today, Krista ?

  • @Alayna Hamilton @Krista Berg Hi! I came across this thread as our org is looking to switch from regular Omatic in DB view to the cloud version. Would it be possible to contact both of you for insights on the tool/implementation?
