Membership gifts, year over year (beyond last two years)

Options

Hi all!

We're implementing NXT and I wanted to get some experience creating a generic report. I want to look at Gifts to a particular fund (Membership), by year. The closest I can seem to find is the NXT dashboard which looks at the current year and the last two.

How would I adjust this to look at more than the last two years? How could I get this in a pivot table form?

RE NXT REport Builder should have what you need as long as you don't need slicing of the data with gift attribute/custom field

I've tried putting something together in Report Builder, but I can't find a way to slice it by Gift Date. I can get it to display total giving by fund (with the Filters of ‘all time’ gift date and ‘Membership’ Funds), but I can't get it to visually display that revenue by year.

I want a pivot table with columns for ‘Gift Date (Year)’, and ‘Revenue’. What am I missing?

Creaste a new insight to be added to a dashboard

add the fund description to the row

then add gift amount to metrics, and make change to the filter on date to say various years (first one can be this year)

then add gift amount to metrics again, and make change to filter on date for last year, so on and so forth

Ok, I see how you're doing that. Thanks!
We don't have Insight Designer, unfortunately. I'll keep poking to see if I can find a workaround.

Oh, I wasn't aware you need additional license to use Insight Designer. Maybe check with your account rep

  • @Nate Pearson Your best bet, use RE Database View. RE NXT is not the greatest for reporting since it is not a fully functional database. Use the Comparison & Summaries Report located in RE Database View in the Demographic and Statistical Report. There you can choose to compare 5 time periods.
