Incorrect date format imported to the system

Options

I got a excel spreadsheet list of records where the dates are in the format of mm/dd/yr, but when I imported the records into Raiser's, some of the record interpreted mm (month) as year. DD (date) as month and yr (year) became day in Raiser's. The incorrected dates are already imported into the system for the fields of ConsCodeDateFrom and ESRDateGrad. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening again? Any quick and efficient way to correct those incorrect dates other than using global change?

If you can provide some more details (the csv text file sample data) and the screenshot of your import setting. This will help diagnose your issue better.

As for making changes to what's in RE already, your best bet is to use the appropreiate import (i.e. Constituent Code import) to update the record.

Consittuent Code From date is a Fuzzy date, so importing is a little different potentially and it also depends on your windows “regional setting”. So first question is what “region” is the RE server? (if you are hosted by Blackbaud, what country, if you are “self-hosted” where is the RE server hosted?

  • @Alex Wong I used the US setting and the short date is mm/dd/yr for my window. I think I know what the problem is now. Thanks
