Transaction Data from OLX Emails

Options

Is anyone else having issues with OLX email stats? Ours are showing a 0% transaction rate, 0 transactions, and $0 raised, but we see a significant increase in donations after an email goes out and when we download the recipient list, it says folks gave. I know some email providers have updated privacy setting to make this info harder to get, and some people don't donate via the links in the email, but I'm very surprised to see no data. For context, our Giving Tuesday emails last year showed about 70 donations.

Hi @Molly Costigan - Since you mentioned the response of “Gave” is included when you download the recipient information from OLX into RE, I think the issue is primarily in OLX not displaying the information correctly within the stats window. I would recommend you reach out to Support to get to the bottom of this.

  • Thank you!! I should have mentioned that I tried contacting support and they checked on a few of the people who gave. They said there was nothing on the back end indicating that they gave directly through our email links and it must be that we're blocked from getting the data by firewalls or security settings…and that others are going to our website to donate instead of using our links. I've been expecting the quality of our data to decrease as privacy setting evolve, but I'm surprised to see it drop to zero so suddenly and wondering if that's normal for others.

  • @Molly Costigan I am experiencing this issue as well. Were you able to get a solution from BB?

  • @Diana Garcia - unfortunately I haven't. They continue to point back to it being an issue with firewalls and individual privacy settings, or people not using our email links and going to our website instead. I have a hard time believing that that's been the case for every donation since last summer. We've been trying to get around it by creating more unique donation pages so we can track that way. We've also found that some donors will end up showing “gave” as the response to an email, even though they're not included in the stats. I created a resource document for our comms team that explains how to query on that and get some data manually. If that sounds helpful, feel free to email me at mcostigan@rmhc-ctx.org and I'd be happy to share!

  • @Diana Garcia - we never got word about a fix or an explanation that made sense to me, but we started getting data again on our Giving Tuesday emails this year, so you might check and see if the same happened for you ?We're not doing anything differently to my knowledge so unfortunately I can't help if that wasn't the case for you, but I was excited to see that data again!

  • @Molly Costigan thanks for the update! Our marketing team moved away from OLX and began using MailChimp – they like the added flexibility. I will let them know about the fix and see if it may persuade them to give OLX another shot.
