It sounds like you do not keep file of receipts you have generated. Or saved it to the record as it sounds like some orgs do.

If that is the case, I would look at the gift record (creating screen shot is handy) for the date it was originally receipted and the receipt #.

Change the receipt status to Not Receipted and generate a new receipt. If I were having to do it this way I would use the original date of the receipt and receipt # on the letter. When we have to resend one from our files we add “Receipt Reprint” at the top or some notation to indicate it is not a new gift/receipt.

I would go back on the gift record and reenter the original receipt date and # as it will have the date you create the new one.

  • @Anna Benedict Well if you did not save and file away copies of the letters and tax statements at the time that you produced them.

You can do one-offs. Are you using the Tax Statement that is in RE? You can choose to include just an individual instead of a query/group of folks. And you can do the same with the letter if you did it in Quick Letters.

And like mentioned, you can always do a screenshot as a quick and dirty way of showing gifts on a person's record.

    Hi Anna,
Did you find a way to do this easily in NXT? We get a lot of requests from people that have lost their receipts around tax time. We need an easy way to reprint the receipt that was originally issued. Keeping paper copies of receipts seems inefficient. There should be a way to either reprint the receipt without reissuing a new one or having a copy of the receipt appended to the file that could be easily reprinted or emailed to a donor.
