How do I customize the Email Preference page?

When a donor clicks the unsubscribe link on an e-mail blast, they are taken to an Email Preferences page. How can we edit the content of this page or control the page to which this e-mail link is directed?

  • A user will always see three sets of choices on an unsubscribe page. Two will be present no matter how your email interests or email campaigns are configured.

    1. A choice to opt in or out of email ENTIRELY (this corresponds to the "Accept Email?" checkbox on the profile tab of the contact record)

    2. A choice of preferred email format.

    The third choice will be the option to opt in or out of specific Email Interests (set up in Constituent360), and what the recipient sees depends on a few things.

    If your email campaign is linked to a specific email interest, then the 3rd choice will be to opt in or out of just that interest.

    If your email campaign is not linked to a specific email interest, or if you are sending a Quick Email, then the 3rd choice will be a list of ANY email interests active on your site that the receipient has permission to see.

    In addition to the recipient's choices, you will see introductory and descriptive text on the unsubscribe page. This content is site-wide (affects any unsubscribe page) and you may request changes to it through Convio Support.

    EXPERIENCED CONVIO USERS: Any examples of custom content you've used (or avoided) on your unsubscribe page that got better results?

  • That pages is not customizable through the product. If you contact your Account Manager to discuss with them what customization you would like, they may be able to have those changes scoped out to determine 1) if they are possible, 2) how long the customization would take, and 3) how much the customization would take. Due to permissions based marketing, there are not a lot of structural changes that can be made to that page, but some things can be.

    Has anyone else successfully had this done? If so, what type of changes were made? We are wanting to give constituents more options, such as limiting the number of emails they might get online as well as their offline contacts.

  • When someone doesn't leave the Accept Email box checked when they are signing a survey or petition they have a "No" on their profile if they accept email. But I have made it so that also when they complete the survey they are automatically put in our E-news for their interests. So even though they have a "no" to accepting email will they still receive my E-news if they are automatically updating that interests? I dont's want them too but I'm checking to make sure they don't.
