Default text in eCommerce Search Pull Down Menu

In the pull down menu of our eCommerce tool, the default item at the top of the pull down is blank. However, we should be able to put some default text at the starting position of the pull down menu that says something like: "Scroll to Search" or something. Is there a way to get text into the default position of our ecommerce tool?
