Is there a way to add an option at the end to cover the merchant services fees and have it be added to the total donation?

    Hi Martha Hafele‍. No, this isn't an available feature in Online Express, but we will be adding this capability to our new donation forms in RE NXT.

    Hi Austen! I can jump in here as I'm the product manager for RENXT Donation Forms. We've already started working on donor cover with our payments team and our gift teams but are still very early in the process so we don't have an exact timeframe to share yet for delivery but we are currently targeting to be in an early adopter program testing and learning in the the first half of next year. When we have a more confident idea of release schedule to clients we'll definitely be covering it in our roadmap calls so you can look for updates there.

    Hi @Patrick Flynn - I haven't heard anything recently about Blackbaud's Donor Cover feature. In the meantime, I would recommend you check out SmartTHING's DONORCOVER OLX add-on. Here is a thread that contains more information on this option:

    Thank you. And yes, I have looked into SmartTHINGS widgets and the donor pay one in particular. Unfortunately, they are only compatible with OLX and not NXT donation forms.

    I prefer to use NXT donation forms because of the enhanced pledge/recurring gift features. I use those more than features in OLX's forms. I have also read that SmartTHINGS' donor pay widget (thing) is buggy at best.

    Patrick - NXT is a closed source form, meaning third party add-ons are not possible. In my experience, SmartTHING's donor cover add-on for OLX has worked really well with no issues. My last org has been using the add-on for almost 2 years now.

    Hi Patrick,

    Just a quick one to set the record straight - SmartDONORCOVER is used all over the place by loads of organisations and if it had bugs we would know about/have solved them. It works perfectly as far as we are aware. Anyone having issues we of course offer free support as always at support at smartthing.org.

    We are also due to release donation forms - very fluid UI friendly NXT based - which will support donor cover and a lot of other features natively as well as using BBMS for checkout. Keep an eye out for that… it will be part of our SmartPORTAL range.
