Total number of years for gifts

Hi,


We are trying to pull the total number of years a constituent has donated. Is this possible?


The Consecutive Years category doesn't really work for what we need because our major fundraiser is every other year and so we are missing a bunch of people.

    Do you have RE NXT?  There is functionality in there that calculates this for you.

    Coincidentally, this has been in our team discussion recently.  How is the Total Years Giving exported from NXT?

    I know that you can see this in each record but now that I am looking at this I don't see an easy way to export this.  There are some articles on the knowledgebase as to how to create or manipulate this through the database view.  Sorry I wasn't more help on getting this info to you.  Definitely something that would be helpful to do/know.

    There are other threads on this topic of Total Consecutive Years and Total Years.

    I do not recall anyone mentioned a solution through NXT view.  But the the view the solution is Export.  And it's tedious to set up, but then it's there for whenever you need it.


    You've got to set up an Export include the Gift Summary info of number of gifts and total amount given.  If you need more specific info on each gift then you will have to set up multiple columns for gifts.  And yes, this means you could be export 20, 30, 50 or more columns of individual gifts, that's the tedious part.  Some folks also do a gift summary for each year of gifts so that they just know the total number of gifts in any given year.
