Multiple Pledges -- Applying Gifts

I have one Constituent with almost 200 pledges.  (It's an Org, we were doing a Capital Campaign, it's old info, but I have to clean it up).  These pledges are all for the same fund and lots of them are from the same date.  I am trying to match up the Cash Gifts with the Pledges.  Currently, I go into the Cash gift, then Gift at the top, then Apply To, then Pledge, then pick the appropriate Pledge, hit Auto Distribute and OK.  But when I have multiple Pledges for the same Fund on the same Date for the same Amount, I don't know which one to pick!  I can't change the columns in that window.  Help!!!  The only thing I thought of is doing some kind of Global Update, using the Gift ID of the Pledge and the Gift ID of the Cash Gift.  I'm open to any and all suggestions.  I'm really at a standstill with this and it's very frustrating to have to wait 24 hours or more for a response from the Helpdesk after they've sent me a question in an email and I've replied to it.  Thanks!

    Amy, what info are you looking for when deciding which to choose?  


    First question, is there a difference, does it matter which pledge you select?  If all for same fund and it's old data....just a thought.  


    Assuming it does, it looks like the reference field is visible when applying a pledge, can you use info or put info there to help determine which pledge you are looking for?


    If you're matching off gift ID put that column to display on your gift window for the constituent and do a screen shot(s) to use as a reference or pull the gift ID into your reference field.


    Just trying to visualize your issue and possible work arounds.
