OLX event receipting - taxable Vs non taxable deduction

Options
Hi,

I have set up an event page that has the event registration fee but then users can also make an additional donation.  When we use the eReceipting option, whilst material I have read suggests the eReceipt will separate out the non taxable deduction (ie. the event rego payment) and the tax deduction (ie. the additional donation), as per the event registration eReceipt sample on this page <https://kb.blackbaud.com.au/articles/Article/97366>

However, the eReceipt I am receiving in testing is lumping both payments together as a gift amount.

How do I separate out the transaction amount to the non taxable value and the gift value? Is there a config or event set up parameter I am missing to get this functionality to work?

Thank you for any advice.

Regards,

Jo

  • Hi Jo Bartley‍. The non-deductible amount that will show on the eReceipt should be the difference between the Gift Amount and the Receipt Amount as-configured in the RE list of price types for your event. So say you have an event with a ticket for $100, $75 of which you've configured in RE as tax-deductible. And say a registrant purchased one such ticket and also made a $30 additional donation. Their receipt should show a tax-deductible amount of $105 ($75 + $30) and a total amount paid of $130.

    Thanks!

  • Perfect, thank you for the guidance in the right direction.  Got it working!

I also found this link <https://www.kb.blackbaud.com.au/articles/Article/37409> help explain the event set up required.

  • HI Chris,

just looping back around on my question of events and eReceipting.  The information you supplied previously was helpful but I am now trying to set up and event and use OLX event registration form and have hit a hurdle.

The event registration fee is $50, there is no additional donation and I have set up the registration benefit as $50 - however when I use the OLX eReceipt the Gift amount is coming out as $50, where as there is no gift therefore I want the transaction amount to be $50 and the gift amount to be $0.

Can you offer any advice on how I set the event up so I can use the eReceipting feature in OLX to achieve the above?

    Kind regards,

    Jo
