Edits to records slow to show?

Options
I'm a web developer working with my client who has a Raisers Edge NXT account we are seeking to integrate with a search function on the website. I have very little experience with RE-NXT.

We've tied into the API, and are seeing data from our initial sync, but edits to test data in records are very slow to appear inside the RE-NXT dashboard itself-- sometimes longer than 20 minutes. Is that fairly normal for this platform?

I can't speak to changes made as a result of API, but my experience has been that when I make a change in Database View it can sometimes take 20-30 minutes to show up in NXT.  So I'm not surprised to hear this.  Are you seeing the changes immediately in Database View?

I have made updates in the webview, and they don't show in lists or reports for 20-120 minutes. You will see an update time at the top of those. Update time between the actual record in database view and webview seems faster.

  • Yes this is correct.

I've noticed that if I'm using the API for say, updating individual constituent records and then pull that individual record everything is up to date.

But if I'm pulling that record through a Constituent List, the update I made takes a while (up to 30 minutes) to show up.

You'll notice that in the API Reference that some endpoints say something like:

" Note: This endpoint returns data with an average latency of about 30 minutes. "

This unfortunately is just by design.
