Address Accelerator -- Intermittently Won't Validate Anything

I've noticed a new-ish problem with Address Accelerator where it 1) fails to validate an address that it seems like should work, and then 2) fails to validate any address thereafter until Raiser's Edge is closed and restarted.

This is affecting multiple users, so it's not something specific to my computer. There's some debate amongst users whether this is connected to our recent Windows 10 upgrade or whether the problem was there earlier than that.

Has anyone else been experiencing this problem?

Yes, we have had the same problem. This happened soon after we migrated. I am not sure how it was fixed, but we don't have many issues with it now.

I think it has more to do with which hosted servers you're connected to, not your local environment. Unless you're not hosted, then your local environment should have little to no impact on RE. But anyway, this has always been an intermittent problem, both when we were on Windows 7 and on Windows 10.

We also see it every so often and run both windows 7 and 10 - believe it has to do with someone locking the address accel file on the server. Once they release the file then everything returns to normal

We're local instead of hosted. Although it's still possible record locking could play some sort of role in the problem as we store Address Accelerator files on a share drive.
