Adding a mandatory registration fee to an event form

We host a large multi-level event each year. Some sessions are free and others have fees associated.  This year, we want to require everyone to pay a flat registration fee to attend -- regardless of whether they are attending a free session or a fee-based session.  We use the Classic event registration form and were told that there is no way within the part itself to make the flat fee required, but we can make it an option on the part and include text to encourage people to pay the fee. We realize some people will not select the required fee when registering.  I was wondering if anyone else has attempted charging a mandatory/flat fee for an event and how you handled it within NetCommunities.

    I am wondering about this same thing. We have an event coming up and we want to require the registration fee for the event, but not all of the additional add-ons they could pay for. I'm using Online Express and can't figure out how to make the registration fee required. It's surprising to me since you can require contact information but you can't require a registration fee. That doesn't make sense to me.
