3rd Party Email Builders for Net Community email

Options
Hello,

We are hoping to use a 3rd party drag and drop style email template builder to create our emails with.

Then exporting the HTML result into Net Community email for sending out.

The main reason for this is that we have quite limited buy-in for using the standard Net Community interface to craft emails - our staff are finding it old fashioned, slow and time consuming.

Can anyone recommend an online tool they have used to ahcieve this? Some that we have found include https://mosaico.io/ https://stripo.email/ https://beefree.io/ and https://www.mailjet.com/

Thanks! James Cameron

  • Hi James,

I've been designing & programming emails for NetCommunity and all the other Email Marketing Services out there for nearly 10 years but I do it the old fashioned way - lots of coffee, code & Dreamweaver. The online tools you mentioned are among the best I've found so you have a head start. I will say that most of the online code generators or free templates still need a bit of "tweaking" once they're imported into BBNC since NetCommunity doesn't handle code like any other email marketing service. Have you had luck using the code from these online services? Does it translate well?

Looking forward to seeing if anyone else chimes in with additional tools & hearing if you have success with what you've done thus far.
  • Hi Rebecca, thanks for your reply. I agree, with a bit of tweaking, most formats can work.

The issue is putting into the hands of everyday users, and still getting a good result. This will be the challenge.

I have tried the Mailchimp exports and its not really practicable - BBNC tends to muck with the code when its pasted. Im trying new solutions now and will advise.

    Regards,

    James

  • I'm right there with you - but it looks like in the future RENXT (where NetCommunity email services will be migrating to) will allow drag and drop email template editors. I suspect late in 2018. In the meantime, I build various templates for my team (using Dreamweaver and paste them into BBNC) that they use for campaigns and we refresh them each year. This can be challenging however, as I am then requested to help fix spacing issues, etc., when the final content is placed in since adjustments can be accidentally made to the code when they're using the WYSIWYG editor.

I used to purchase templates (Themeforest has some good ones for approx. $10-$15) but then I still had to clean up the code for BBNC's system so it's been easier to create them myself.
