NetCommunity in Raiser's Edge

Does anyone know how to adjust the view of NetCommunity online transactions on the NetCommunity page?

I added a co-worker as a new user and the way she views the data is very different from how my NetCommunity page is set up. It appears she does not have access to process transactions in bulk.

Any help/thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks!

I don't know for sure, but if you have Admin rights try going into Admin / Security - see what security group she is assigned to, it could be that she will need more securiy permissions within RE.  Is the option for bulk processing there but it's greyed out or is it not showing up at all??

The settng of user access right on NetCommunity transactions is from RE -> NetCommunity page -> Options -> Transaction Assignments.

  • Thanks! Unfortunately, we don’t have any transaction assignments set up; so I’m not sure how that would change her view.

Also, she has supervisor rights as well.

    Any other thoughts?

    Thank you again,

    Michaela

  • Hi! Thanks. The Bulk Processing doesn't appear at all. She has supervisor rights, so she should have access to everything.

Just not sure why her screen looks so different from mine and my other co-workers.

    Thank you,

    Michaela
  • Hi Michaela,

Hope you had a great weekend. Users with supervisor level rights in The Raiser's Edge will be able to access all plugin options and functions. Below is a screenshot of the default look of the NetCommunity plugin. Note at the top I have All Transaction Categories selected in the View dropdown:

If I change the drop down to something else, such as Unaccepted Transactions with Counts, I lose the last transaction type of Surveys as I do not have any Survey results to process. The plugin will hide any categories which currently do not have a transaction ready to be processed:

Please let me know if this helps or if there are any questions.

    Thanks!

  •  Thanks for your screen shots. The view that I am talking about goes one step farther - it's when we click on Memberships. The way that screen looks is different from mine, for instance she doesn't have the option to click Bulk Processing. Her options all together look different. It's almost like I have a different version, but I know that is not the case. My screen looks like the traditional screen that you see in the Blackbaud RE manual.

    Thank you!

  • Hi Michaela,

Thank you for the additional information. The Membership transaction processing grid was changed in version 6.64 Patch 10. Previous versions look like the one in your first screenshot. After 6.64, the Membership grid was updated to look like the other transaction types in the plugin, such as Signup Requests or Donations. You can confirm your plugin version by opening the plugin the navigating to Options > About. There are three components which should all be on the same version (The plugin itself, the NetCommunity website, and the RE7Service).

I pulled up your configuration page. You organization is split hosted with Blackbaud with us hosting the Blackbaud NetCommunity website portion, and your organization hosting The Raiser's Edge and The Raiser's Edge Web Services server (or RE7Service/REWS). The REWS is the bridge connecting BBNC to RE. Your current version of REWS is on 6.58 while BBNC is on 7.1. Your IT staff would need to upgrade the REWS server to the latest version and any workstations that have the plugin. The installers are available on Blackbaud.com here

The Knowledgebase solution below walks through how to upgrade the REWS server:

How to install or update Blackbaud NetCommunity 7.x when Blackbaud NetCommunity is hosted and The Raiser's Edge is not hosted.

Please let me know if there are any questions!

That is incredibly helpful. Thank you. I had no idea that we had different versions. I don't even know how that would happen...

It appears (as you can see in the attachment) that my colleagues and I all have different plug-in versions. So I will bring this to my IT person's attention.

    Thank you again,

    Michaela
