Net Community - How to handle divorced parents re-enrolling

We are in the process of using Net Community for re-enrolling our students. Unfortunately we can only create one username and password per family. How are other schools handling their divorced parents, especially when there's tension between the two parents.

    Do you have split parent / individual records? If not that is the best solution I believe. We were using split records in EE for a while and had to split the RE records for integration before rolling out OCC (BBNC).

    Did you ever resolve this issue? We are having the same problem. Our divorced families have separate user names/passwords but both parents must electronically sign our enrollment contract. If the mother has logged in using her information, the father cannot access the child or children because the reenrollment is active or processed. Suggestions?

    We have the same issue, I started a chat with BB and they don't have any documentation for a best practice for this scenario, however I'm thinking to create 2 extra forms for each divorced parent removing the info of the other parent to avoid overwriting or mislead info and processing separetely, I'm starting to foresee some difficulties for share custody cases in order to determine which is the primary residence of the student but I'll give it a try and keep posted here.

    We created two forms.  The first is used by married and single households as well as the first submitter in

    a divorced or separated household.   The second form is used by the second submitter in a divorced or separated household.    

    It does get a little dicey when referring to a child's primary residence since so many share custody 50/50, so we had to 

    update our terminology.

    We do things exactly like Julie.  Our school actually requires two separate signatures from all parents whether they are divorced or not.  We have a "full" enrollment form that is completed by the first parent and an "abbreviated" enrollment form that is completed by the second parent.  The full enrollment form contains all of the financial information and background text along with all the demographic fields and drop-down menus that get imported into EE when the form is processed.  The abbreviated form just contains all of the financial information and background text and a small handful of demographic fields.


    Slightly clunky at times, but it has worked very well for us.
