A Software Implementation Goes Into A Church …

Options
My church is currently in the midst of a renewal project. We’re adding a new worship facility, extending the church foyer, and creating an education space. It’s been a construction zone around here for a while now, but it’s been an amazing process to watch—from laying the foundation to ultimately rethinking the use of our new space. It won’t be long until everything’s in place in the reinvigorated facility. Can’t wait!

All this activity made me realize how similar a facility renovation and a software implementation are. Really. I also came to see how valuable it is to have a firm foundation for the technology used in church administration. And that foundation should be training.

The best thing you can do to support your software investment is to train your team. Give them a solid foundation of the basics—basic features, basic functionality, and proven methods for effective and efficient use of the complete system (best practices). Everyone should know how to perform daily functions within the system, how to get answers to questions, and where to find information on internal policies. With this foundation, the software implementation will come together quickly, and you’ll have a nice new “facility” (platform) from which to manage your ongoing efforts.

Blackbaud University is here to help make sure your church has a good foundation for the Blackbaud technology your church uses.
