Hello Komen affiliates, this   is your Feburary 2011 Account Manager update. Happy new year.  I hope that 2011 is going well for you   all.  I believe I have had the chance   by now to speak to most of you all and I look forward to speaking to those   that I haven’t talked to yet.

I wanted to make sure to send   this information out to you all because I know you are ramping up your work   for your upcoming events and it’s a busy time.  In this newsletter you will find: information   about the upcoming Convio release, updates on trainings that are available to   you and an awesome TeamRaiser Kit (I think you all will really like this!!), and some best practices tips.

I wish you all the best are   you are preparing for your walks and can’t wait to hear about the success you   all will achieve.

Communicating at the Convio   Community!

Did you know that there is a   page in the Convio Community just for the Komen affiliates?!  Well there   is and this is a primary way that I would like to communicate with you all,   share documents and best practices.  You will hear me saying a lot “post   it on the community”.  If you have a question, chances are another   affiliate has the same question.  And if you post it in the Community   either myself or one of my Convio friends will post an answer for all to   see.  Starting today I will be posting documents and other useful   information on this page.

COMING   SOON – The Convio Winter Release

Hopefully   you all have been receiving notifications from Convio that our winter release   is on its way (and if you haven’t been receiving them make sure to let me   know).   This release will focus enhancing   both feature set and usability in four  specific categories: Team Fundraising (TeamRaiser), Customer Experience, and Open Platform.

Best Practices for Registration

       Improve Registration conversion rates by:

       explaining why you need mailing address info

       removing the following fields:

       “title” field

       “country” field

       “phone number” field (or make it clearly optional) if   you can

       “preferred Email format” field

       “Reset Answer”, “Skip Registration” buttons

       removing Username/Password fields

       Never include this unless there is specific,   value-added functionality that requires logging in.

       “We need this so that users can update their profile”   doesn’t count.  Users don’t care about   this (and they never, ever do it).



New and Improved Convio Training!

Convio has updated our online   training.  We now have more online   trainings available at no cost and we’re offering them more often.

I have to ability to set you   up with a learning path which will suggest a series of different online   trainings that you can take based on your role at the organization.  If you feel like you are in need of some   training and would like to have a “learning path” please just let me know!
