JOB: Event Marketing Manager

The Event Marketing Manager reports into the Marketing Director - but works closely with the Corporate Relations, School Relations and Development Directors - and will have the following key responsibilities:

 

Event Marketing
  • Manage the marketing and promotion of all live Forté events:  Create and execute a promotion plan for each event to meet the registration and attendance goals; create communications schedule; write copy for and develop email communications, coordinate advertising buys and create ads, handle partnership and sponsor outreach, report on event marketing performance
  • Develop event-related content and collateral:  Work with Forté team on collecting / updating content for event websites and onsite materials; create collateral including PowerPoint templates, flyers, and signage; handle content/collateral production and printing process; serve as point person to marketing designers and vendors
  • Create marketing-specific survey questions to be incorporated in event feedback surveys; analyze marketing-specific questions and make suggestions for marketing improvements
  • Track and analyze success of all marketing tactics and provide recommendations for future marketing efforts
  • Manage event marketing budget
  • Provide research and recommendations for Forté’s annual event marketing strategy
  • Travel to and assist with Forté events throughout the year
 

Partnership Marketing
  • Manage partnership marketing: Handle all partner outreach, identify new partners
  • Maintain up-to-date database of all partners and partner performance
  • Create and execute partnership agreements and partner marketing calendar
  • Track effectiveness of each partnership
  • Build relationships with partners and develop a communications plan to keep contacts engaged and informed
  • Assist with specific exhibitor outreach programs including NACE, SWE, HUWIB, etc.
  • Identify Marketplace Discount opportunities
 

Other Marketing Initiatives
  • Serve as marketing point person for school and corporate sponsors
  • Manage school and corporate sponsor logos
  • Collaborate with Corporate Relations team on ways to promote Forté to employees from sponsor companies
  • Collaborate with School Relations team on ways to promote Forté to students, faculty and staff from school sponsors
  • Provide Development team with event and initiative communication support and collateral creation
  • Work with Marketing Director on ad hoc projects
 

                                                        

Desired Characteristics
  • Extensive event marketing skills
  • Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills and experience with graphic  design, website and email production
  • Project management skills including scoping and leading complex projects, meeting deadlines, motivating project teams and managing budgets
  • Attention to detail, responsiveness, flexibility and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Tenacity in identifying solutions and resolving issues
  • Must be able to work autonomously, exercise independent decision-making, and set priorities with minimal supervision in a fast-changing entrepreneurial environment 
  • Demonstrates energy and passion for the Forté vision

Required Education / Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8-10 years of work experience in event and/or partnership marketing role with design experience
  • Background in journalism or marketing communications preferred
  • Knowledge of Convio/Luminate Online, HTML, MS Excel, Powerpoint, Illustrator/InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat

Job Environment

Employees of Forté work independently from home offices. Each employee should have the capacity within their home to set-up a work environment or office. Forté provides a computer, phone, office supplies, and subsidizes the cost of internet service for each employee.
