Custom Connector Between NXT and Power BI – "Access to the Resource is Forbidden" Error

Options

Hey guys,

I am trying to set up a custom connector between NXT and Power BI. However, when I open Power BI and attempt to retrieve data from NXT, I receive the following error: "Access to the resource is forbidden."

Could you please clarify whether this is something that needs to be authorized by the NXT administrator or the Power BI administrator? Please see the image attached

Thank you,

Since you are able to get to this step, that means your Blackbaud.mez is corrected created.

Assuming you updated the subscription, client id, client secret file properly, then you need to go to the developer.blackbaud.com application that correspond to the client id and check to make sure you have proper access setup:

    OR at least READ access

Then under “View Environment” make sure your RE NXT production environment is listed as Connected, Authorized, and has access.

  • Hi @Alex Wong, thank you for the guidance.

I've updated the scopes section to 'Full data access' and have checked the environments. However, I noticed that in the access column, it still shows 'None.' Could you please let me know when this is expected to change to 'Full access'?

@Erik Leaver knows about a “approval” thing that has to happen. I would normally just “disconnect” the application from marketplace and reconnect and that will fix it.

  • @Alex Wong the access status in the environment has updated from "None" to "Full." However, I am still unable to access the data in Power BI.

I wonder if this issue could be related to any admin access settings on our organization's side?

It’s working now! I believe the issue was related to timing. I restarted my computer, logged in again with my credentials in Power BI for NXT, and everything is working fine.

    Thank you for your assistance!
