Report Card Access Date does NOT prevent early display of GPA / numeric average

Confirmed with Support: the Report Card Access Dates only affect grades, not GPA or numeric average. Because of this, we can't add this column to the report card template until the day/time the report cards publish or students and parents will see this information early (and it might be inaccurate if teachers are still entering grades). If the grade access has not happened yet, the GPA/numeric average should not be accessible either.

Has anyone found a better workaround for this? There are two existing Ideas on this issue but until Blackbaud changes this, it's an extra step required for publishing report cards each quarter.
