Query - handling complex slection-criteria

Options

It seems like the current Query in RE doesn't handle complex/advanced selection-criteria. “Merged queries” might be a work-around method, but it doesn't seem to be effective yet. Would there be any possibility, in the near future, that Blackbaud would make its query to be a bit more advanced?

Hi @Tom Ong, Thanks for your question. I'm assuming that you are talking about the new query functionality BB has released in the web view of RE NXT. To your question will they make it more advanced . . . while they have released it to most (if not all clients) at this point they are still working on it. I would recommend a few things:

    • After a quick search for similar topics ask here in the community in the RE NXT thread about what it is you are trying to accomplish with query and someone will most likely be able to tell you if it is possible.
    • If it seems like something should work and you can't find your answer here or in the knowledgebase - start a support case.
    • If the functionality is not yet built
      • Go to the idea bank and see if someone has made a similar suggestion and vote.
      • If you don't find the idea start a new idea, let people know why you think it is important, and vote.
        • Then copy the link and share it in the thread you started in the Community on the topic and ask people to vote on it.

As far as BBU classes around RE NXT's web view query there are a few classes

This is an area to stay up-to-date with the PUBs - the next ones will be here in May. Watch the community for announcements - I've already saved the dates on my calendar so I try not to book anything extra during those days. You can also pay attention to the What's New area Query in Web View.

In regards to the merged query workaround idea - last week there did seem to be an issue with that and I believe it has been resolved.

Good luck Tom - let us know how it works out for you! We are ready to vote for good ideas!
