Snow Days

Options

As a good chunk of the country gets ready for another winter wave, what's your favorite thing to do on a snow day? Do you work from home? Camp out at the office? Or just take the day and snuggle in with a blanket and a movie?

Our office is all allowed to work from home on bad weather days, which is a blessing because I don't have to stress out about unfinished projects just because the weather turned bleak, or risk a slip-off on icy/blizzard roads. I like to cuddle up in my comfy robe, listen to music while the kids scamper about, and hit out my rote tasks like mailing lists and Global Adds.

What's your hibernation gig?

@Faith Murray - Snow is so rare in the Carolinas that we make sure to get out and enjoy it! I work from home, so either way my work continues as normal.

  • @Faith Murray I take the time to goof around with my daughter outside when it snows here. I also like running in/around the snow. Makes for a fun obstacle course and some nicely varied terrain.

  • @Faith Murray Trying to keep the afternoon free in case there is an impromptu outing to go sledding with the kids.

  • @Lucy Ruiz and @Bobby Steurer, I love the impromptu sledding with the kiddos. ? My kids love sledding too. … although I won't let them out unless it's at least 20F out there. Right now it's subzero, so unfortunately we have to just enjoy the lovely snow sipping hot chocolate by the windows. ?

@Faith Murray I live in the cold northeast, so I'm pretty used to snowy weather. I work for myself, so most snow days look like a combination of snow-removal and working from my home office. Though I do indulge in some hot-cocoa and wrapping in a warm blanket as a reward. Grilled cheese and tomato soup for lunch is another favorite on a “snow day”.

@Faith Murray, we have no snow days in Phoenix – but I wish we had excessive heat days! It was in the 90s last week (though I was enjoying some cool, rainy days in Ireland)!

  • @Faith Murray - I'm in Rochester, NY and we get an occasional snow day but more often than not it is actually a cold day where the wind chills are below a certain number. Those days are for movies, reading and snuggling my kitties!
