Including inactive appeals in query

Options

Just tried out query in webview with a very simple and common query: all gifts to X & Y appeals. X appeal is inactive. I tried this in an appeal query, gift query and constituent query and it doesn't work if any of the appeals are inactive as you can only see the active appeals in query (even if you first pick the ‘appeal is inactive’ criteria). In DB view there is a check box to select appeals that are inactive. This is convenient since you don't automatically see a long list of appeals (as you do unfortunately in Report Builder when creating dashboards, but that's a whole different pain). I talked to support in case I was just missing something and wasted an hour. They came back with ‘you’ll have to do this in database view or if using WebView, query on all gifts, export them all, and then select out only the ones to the appeals that I want, in Excel'. We have over 200,000 gifts and 1,100 appeals in our database - that would be a ridiculous waste of time. Back to database view for queries until this gets resolved.
